I am a wife and mother living in a one-career household. I have begun making decisions to take control of our financial future (including taking on small jobs that fit into my life and using the $ earned to pay off bills). One of the things that is keeping me focused and motivated is posting my progress on this blog and sharing what I am learning along the way.

$400 more!
Made another $400 in payments to the card! Yippee!
Thanks for the support. To answer your question, I have about 9K on our last credit card, 9K on a home improvement loan, and 20K on a student loan. Although that can seem daunting, I think about what we did have before I started this process... 16K on cars, 7K on a motorcycle, a couple K on a store credit card, 6K on a major credit card. We sold the motorcycle, paid off the department store credit card, paid off each car, paid off the lower balanced credit card (and closed the account), and now I'm working on our last credit card. I don't feel at all overwhelmed by what we have left b/c I know what we've already been able to accomplish with focused determination. :-)
You are really doing great at eliminating your debt. How much do you have left to eliminate?
